Hello again!   Here we are at a Humanitarian Meeting with the Committee we work withs herre in Guyana.  Elder and Sister Moore are behind us that are missionaires and live in Barbados!   Lucky!  Then Dr. Christiansen, and our committee members from here in Georgetown. The happy one of the far right is President Taylor, who serves in the District Presidency.

A nice relaxing dinner at the hotel out by the only pool I have seen in Georgetown!

This cute little family was having dinner and noticed our badges so we gave them a Book of Mormon!
He is a pilot and his boss is LDS!  You never know!!
They actually have 10 children!!   Wouldn't that be something!!!!    IF.........????

We LOVE the scenery in this country!!!

Here we are with Dr Vandyke, chairman of the "Prevention of the Blind" and the traveling missionaries helping with Humanitarian efforts!

We love that there are women opthomologists here in Guyana!!

Dr. Christiansen from SLC got a kick out of this sign

We loved this beautiful and sweet mural painted on the wall!  Notice the name of the village--Unityville!!

Be grateful you don't have this many people waiting in front of you to see the Doctor!
The hospitals are government owned and so it's free!  Make sure this doesn't happen to us!

One of the beautiful nurses that lives in Linden. Most of them even wore their nurses caps!!!

Stopped to add some fruit to our picnic lunch on the road!

We enjoyed our picnic at the tables in the BayRock Community Center!  They even had centerpieces for us!

We love the beautiful scenery as we travel from town to town!

This is one of our favorite buildings in Georgetown!  Some kind of church I think.

We were able to show this lighthouses to our visitors from SLC!  It reminded me of my Great Great Grandmother Elizabeth Olds as she left her husband in South Africa for the Gospel of Jesus Christ!  He worked at a lighthouse and everytime I see one I think of that amazing story of courage!

They are bigger thank you think!!

Inside walking up the stairs!  Dr. C loved it!!  Good bye for now!!!!

This is a photo of Olivia at our PEF training!
They are learning how to build a business out of Lego's
We pretty much see this view everyday as we travel the roads of Georgetown!  It's like living in
Wayne County 40 years ago!   I love it!
These little friends found their way right in front of our driveway one morning to eat their breakfast!

We loved traveling 45 minutes away several times a week to help withs the missionary transfers and visiting guests coming to Guyana!  The scenery is worth the trip!
We always watch for this beautiful sign to remind us we are NOT
Chinese but Guyanese!!!

We are in the rainy season right now and it pours about every day!  It is so pretty and lush here but this photo doesn't show the true colors!

Caught these out to lunch just down the street from where we live!
We love driving home from Berbise, an area about 2 hours from our home.  The scenery is amazing!
This is Elder Poulson with Elder Samaroo!  An awesome full time member missionary who loves helping us and lives just outside Berbise!  We wouldn't know what to do without them!

We traveled to Berbise to have a  meeting with the Humanitarian and PEF Committee and other missionaries!  It was a great day!
This is along the highway and reminds me of "Gone With the Wind"

The view was worth the very long day!

The next day we traveled another 1 1/2  hours to Linden!
We love visiting there and don't you think the kids are worth the trip?
They made the cutest raincoats out of clear plastic bag!  They even taught me how to make one!

                                                           Isn't she so cute!!!!

That's about it for tonight!   See you again soon!
We love and miss you all!  Please comment!   We love hearing from you!

Hello everyone!!
We have survived out first month here in Guyana!!!
It has been quite the adventure!!
We love it here and are adjusting to the climate and driving here!
It is now the rainy season and we love how it just down pours and 10 minutes later it's blue skies and sunny and bright again!!! Now we know why it's so pretty and green here!!
The people are so warm and friendly here and love all the missionaries!! They love unconditionally and accept you so lovingly!!!
The first week our biggest challenge was driving on the left side of the road, on the right side of the car! Totally opposite from home!! I am grateful Elder Poulson does All the driving! I tried it once and decided that was enough!
The members here are very strong in The gospel and very faithful! The church is their whole world!! We love attending institute and having gospel discussions around our little table! Each week we have a few more come and pretty soon we will need a bigger table! Even a few of the children come and sit for 2 hours! I am amazed at how they can do that!
We are grateful for each one of you and your prayers! We truly feel them! It was difficult at first knowing we will miss the birth of our 8th grandchild and many other family activities but The Lord has blessed us and given us extra  strength to continue on in our assignment. We love you all and would love your comments!!! We will be posting more soon!!!!
Love,
Elder and Sister Poulson

Above is a photo taken at the mission office here in Georgetown

These are our missionaries we work with! They are awesome and hard workers! We learn so much from them!!
